この患者様は右上のBrの所が腫れて痛みがあるとの事で来院されました。

『小さな頃から腫れて治療をして、また腫れての繰り返しで、不安で物を思いっきり噛む事が出来ませんでした。いよいよ抜く事になり、当たり前のようにBrにしました。でもBrは自分が思ったよりも長持ちませんでした。』

職業上、人と話す事が多いこの方は入れ歯では、話もしにくくなるだろうとインプラントを決意されました。

『最初は迷いました。何より保険がきかないとの事で、高額でどうしようと思いました。でも、ここだけ今のうちにやっとけば、他の歯を守る事になるし、自分の体の事だからやるしかないと思ったんです。』

This patient visited the office with swelling and pain on the right side of a bridge.

“From childhood, my gums have swelled again and again and I haven't been able chew well. When I had to have a tooth pulled, I took a bridge for granted, but it didn't last so long as I expected.”

She decided to have an implant since her job required talking to customers so often, and she was afraid a faise tooth would make it difficult for her to do so.

“I was at a loss at first since it would be so expensive and wasn't covered by insurance. However, I decided to have the implant since it would be better to protect the existing teeth and better for my health.”

手術はかなりの骨の移植が必要でしたので、腫れる事は予想されていましたが……

『自分が想像していたより腫れました。当日は痛みも強く、夜にもう一度来院した事も覚えています。次の日からは薬でコントロールできる程度の痛みでしたが、腫れて、まるで殴られたような顔になったので主人に、俺が殴ったと思われたら嫌だから会社を休んでくれと言われました(笑)
骨にインプラントがつくまでの間、歯がなくて、食べる事、発音の障害など大変でした。歯が無いってこういうことなんだなと思いました。』

We expected swelling since the implant required a large amount of born implant, but...

“It swelled for beyond my expectations. It was very painful on the day of surgery, and I had to go back to the clinic again that night. Pain killers helped to reduce the pain the next day, but my face was still swollen looking as if I had been beaten. My husband smiled and said to me, ‘Please take a few days off from work, or your co-workers may think that I have beaten you!’
I had a hard time without the tooth while waiting for the implant to connect to the bone. I had difficulties eating and talking.”

６ヶ月間しっかり待っていただきいよいよ歯が入りました！

『歯が入ったばかりの時は頬を噛んだりして異和感がありましたが、昔Brを入れた時ほどではなかったのにびっくりしました。今は問題なく使っています。インプラントに自分の歯が負けてしまわないかが心配です(笑)』

今では半年に一度、インプラントとご自身の歯の定期健診に笑顔で来て頂いています。

She waited patiently for six months and at last the tooth was inserted!

“Right after the tooth was attached, I was uncomfortable because I bit the inside of my mouth, but it wasn't so bad as when I had the bridge. Now I can use my teeth without any problem. The only concern I have is that the existing teeth won't be so strong as the implanted one (laugh).”

She comes to our clinic regularly once every six months for an examination of the implanted tooth and her existing teeth.

この方は、昔から当院に通っていただいていた患者様です。

『歯のある頃は部分義歯でも特に不便無く使えてました。インプラントを何度か進められたのですが手術が怖くて決心がつかなかったんです。』

最後の支えであった前歯のBrが抜け落ちてしまい、大きな入れ歯を入れる事になりましたが……

『上顎いっぱいに形が大きくなった事で話しにくくなりました。常に飴玉をなめているような感じで舌の置き場が無く、全く満足できませんでした。インプラントしようかな……と考えていた時、スタッフの方が模型や写真を持ってきて説明してくれたんです。その力添えがなければインプラントはしてなかったと思います。』

This woman is a longtime patient of ours.

“I was fine with a partial denture. When I I still had my own teeth, it was recommended that I have an implant, but I couldn't make up my mind since I was scared of the surgery.”

However, the last brace of the bridge on the anterior teeth came out and she had to have a big artificial tooth.

“I could hardly speak because the artificial tooth was filling the maxillary area. It felt as if I was licking candy, and I didn't know where I should put my tongue. I was not at all satisfied with the situation. When I was thinking about an implant, the staff explained it using a model and pictures. Without that help, I don't think that I would have chosen to have the implant.”

治療前の状態　Condition before Treatment

この方の手術は骨が少ないため頬骨を使ったかなり難しい手術でありました。

『手術最中の事は麻酔のお陰で全く覚えてません。腫れたけどすぐにひいたし、痛みも薬を飲んでいれば平気でした。
半年、骨につくまで待つのも綺麗になるためなら焦ってみてもしょうがないと思って過ごしたら、あっというまでした。』

This surgery was difficult because the patient didn't have enough bone in the jaw, and we needed to use the cheek bone.

“I didn't remember anything about the surgery thanks to the anesthesia. My face swelled, but it healed quickly ; also, the pain killer kept the pain away.
Six months passed quickly since I thought that it was no use getting flustered, I tried looking forward to seeing my pretty smile.”

歯が入った後はいかがでしたか？

『最初の１～２ヶ月はなかなか慣れませんでした。歯の形や、大きさなど根気良く調整してもらい、今では本当に最高です。やっぱり早くインプラントすればよかったと思いました。
顔が若返った様だねとたくさんの方から言われ、第２の人生を歩んでいるようです。』

この患者様からは常に明るく前向きに、という事を教えていただきました。最後にお話の中で、嬉しいお言葉を頂きました。

『先生とスタッフ、患者の気持ちが１つにならなければこんなにいい治療は生まれなかったと思います。良い先生に巡り会えたこと、スタッフの強い力添えがあったことに心から感謝しています。』

この患者様は現在下顎もインプラント治療中です。

How do you like the implant?

“It took a few months to get used to it. I had the shape and size of the tooth adjusted several times, and now I feel great. I wish I had had the implant earlier.
Many people tell me I look younger. I feel as if I am embarking on a whole new life.”

We learned the importance of the patient being cheerful and positive from this woman. At the end of the conversation, she had this to say:

“Such good treatment would not have happened without the doctor, staff and the patient working together. I am very thankful that I found such a great doctor and had the full support of the staff.”

This patient is now having an implant in the mandible as well.
